Solution to the installation and wiring of square RGB LED Modules

We need to do some preparation.

Tool List

1.Cross screwdriver,

2.wire stripping pliers

3.Multimeter (detects voltage/short circuit)

4.Label stickers (marking line sequence)

5.24V power adapter

6.Confirm module parameters
✅ Voltage requirement (commonly 24V)
✅ Signal protocols (such as SPI, 1935IC 1903IC 16703IC DMX, etc.)
✅ Interface type (4-wire terminal head)

What's the connection procedure?

Step 1: Power Connection

Single mode group power supply

The red wire (+V) is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, and the black wire (GND) is connected to the negative pole.

Attention: The power supply must be ≥ the total power consumption of the module (total power consumption ≈ the number of LED modules x the power of each module).

Multi mode group series power supply

Adopting parallel connection to avoid voltage attenuation and reduce the brightness of the module

We generally recommend adding independent power lines for every 50 modules to prevent line damage caused by current overload.

Step 2: Connect the signal line

Signal flow direction (taking the 4-wire interface of a square RGB LED module as an example):

Cascade rule:

The data cable (such as DATA IN → DATA OUT) needs to be connected in series in the direction of the arrow.

Step 3: Controller Configuration

Use LED controllers (such as Bluetooth controllers, computer programming controllers) to set up:
✅ The number of modules used (the first port has a limit on the number of controls, be careful not to exceed the control range of the port)
✅ Module wiring method (signals should be sent in the same direction as indicated by the arrows on the module)
✅ The controller should pay attention to the connection method of the main signal line and the auxiliary signal number, as shown in the following diagram

Common problems and solutions

Problem phenomena/Possible reasons/Troubleshooting methods:

Module does not light up power supply reverse connection/insufficient voltage Use a multimeter to detect positive and negative voltage
Abnormal color in some areas Loose data cable or incorrect wire sequence Re plug the cable and check the corresponding RGB channels

Cascade module has no signal Address code conflict or signal direction error Check the dip switch and confirm the signal flow direction

Severe module heating Overload or short circuit Disconnect the power supply and investigate the short circuit point

4. Safety precautions

Before connecting the power supply, be sure to cut off the power to avoid short circuiting and burning out the chip.

5. Suggestions for advanced debugging

Use a test card to quickly locate faulty modules.

For complex projects, first generate test patterns (solid color/gradient) through software to verify the entire process.

When splicing multi-mode groups, use * * "zigzag" wiring * * (Figure 2) to reduce signal delay.
